Goodbye To Summer
Goodbye To Summer
By: Michaelle Alonge

Labor Day marks the end of the summer season and what a great summer it has been around Chautauqua County.  With hundreds and thousands of visitors coming to the area, the business owners claim that it was a very profitable summer and though the economy is still struggling, tourism in the County was good.

Commencing the summer with the Light the Lakes event around Chautauqua Lake will be a spectacular event to bring summer officially to an end.  Light the Lakes will take place on Sunday, September 5.  The event will include a collaboration of different events throughout the day leading up to the spectacular lighting of the Chautauqua Sky at approx. 9:31p.m.  At each "take-off" location the fireworks will run simultaneously to a live music broadcast via radio feed.  As well as radio feed, there will also be a live television feed broadcasted from an airplane above as the fireworks display takes place.

As we then draw our attention to the upcoming Fall season, the area will be alive with Fall Festivals, Grape Festivals, Wine Festivals, Apple Festivals, Holiday Craft Shows, Art Gallery Shows, Highschool and College Sporting Events and several other activities that can be found by looking at out events pages on CQvibe and Chautauqua Tourist websites.

Hopefully all who took part in the summer activities were able to enjoy themselves during the past nine weeks. We look forward to Bringing you many more stories and happenings during the upcoming Fall and Winter seasons.
