On Saturday, September 18, the Audubon Center and Sanctuary is offering the Japanese healing art of Reiki. Reiki practitioners will donate their time and talent and ask only for donations to the Jamestown Audubon Society in return. Donations support Audubon’s nature education programs like these summer day campers exploring the woods.
EXPERIENCE REIKI HEALING AT AUDUBON
Jamestown, NY – Reiki (“Rake-ee”) is a healing art that has made its way from Japan to most of the world in the last 100 years or so.
This hands-on healing technique has been passed from teacher to student for generations. It is something hard to describe, but amazing to experience.
You can experience Reiki for yourself on Saturday, September 18. Wear loose clothing and come to the Audubon Center and Sanctuary any time between 1 pm and 4 pm. Several Reiki practitioners will be set up in the Nature Center auditorium to take people on a first come, first serve basis. Most sessions last 30-45 minutes.
Reiki has been a wonderful fund and friend raiser for Audubon. The Reiki practitioners donate their time and talent and ask only for donations to the Jamestown Audubon Society in return. You can choose how much you think the experience is worth – but you may find it to be priceless!
The Audubon Center and Sanctuary is at 1600 Riverside Road, off Route 62 between Jamestown and Warren.
The Sanctuary has over five miles of beautifully maintained trails on a 600-acre wetland preserve. Open daily, the Center’s three-story building contains a nature store and a collection of live fish, reptiles, and amphibians. One of the most visited exhibits is Liberty, a non-releasable bald eagle. Interactive displays focus visitors’ attention on ways to celebrate nature hands-on.
