Light the Lakes returns for a third year to Barcelona Harbor Pier in Westfield September 5th with a full slate of music, food, drinks, activities, community organizations and vendors all leading up to a spectacular fireworks display at 9:31 pm.
Festivities kick off at 5 pm and music begins at 5:30 with Skip Roberts “Unplugged” until 6:30, followed by Tree Bird from 6:45pm to 7:45pm and Cloud Called 9 from 8pm to 9:30pm. There will be plenty of activities for children, including a bounce house, balloon animals, a corn hole game and a Westfield Fire Department fire engine for kids to explore.
This year will feature expanded food offerings with sausage, hot dogs, hamburgers, tacos, Amish donuts, popcorn, a corn roast, snow cones, hot roast beef sandwiches, fried dough and waffles. There will be a beer and wine tent as well as soft drinks, lemonade, Italian soda, Grower’s grape juice and water.
Vendors include Craft maven, Baskets Plus, Hathaway Farms, and artists Linda Lavid and Shannon Seachrist. Local community groups will also be on hand, with the Westfield Memorial Hospital offering literature, basic health screenings, frisbees, water bottles, pens and coloring books. The Westfield Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will be selling ornaments and magnets and the Hospital Foundation will be selling raffle tickets for a replica of the Santa Maria. The Westfield Barcelona Chamber of Commerce will be present, the Barcelona Harbor Commission will be selling Barcelona sweatshirts and the Westfield Development Corporation will have Barcelona Lighthouse posters and coffee mugs for sale as well.
