A tornado touch down in the Mayville then Dewittville area on July 24th between 4 and 5pm. Several trees were knocked over. Roofs were blown off and an Amish buggy was turned over. The brunt of the damage happened at Chautauqua Point Golf Course and Condominium area where golf carts caught on fire, the vacant restaurant was heavily damaged and severe damage to several condominiums were reported. Mayville area residents were without power for several hours last night as crew tried to restore it.
The storm moved east causing severe damage in Randolph too.
