Toy Story 3, the long awaited third installment to the Toy Story trilogy, is finally here.
It’s been over ten years since the last Toy Story movie, and the original first hit theaters in 1995.
Original characters are back with some new friends
A lot has changed since the original movie, which followed the adventures of toys that reside in the bedroom of Andy.
He’s all grown up now – and Woody(Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear(Tim Allen), and the rest of the toys are facing the harsh reality of getting older.
Andy has a laptop, a cell phone, he can drive – and now he is off to college.
The toys end up being donated by Andy’s mother to Sunnyside daycare, where they meet a new community of toys – and a whole lot of new kids to play with.
They soon discover that the daycare kids might not be age appropriate plus the new toys they meet at the daycare are running their very own dictatorship.
This is one of those children’s movies that nobody should miss, especially those who saw these movies years ago. It’s funny, scary, and heartwarming all at once.
Entertaining from start to finish – the film has the same wit and charm that the previous films both possess, and even tugs at the heartstrings.
Fun times, but sad parts too
It’s almost heartbreaking what these toys go through – and everyone can relate to letting go to the things they love most.
The adventures that Woody and Buzz go on are exciting, frantic even. The toys face danger and betrayal wherever they go. It’s fast-paced, frightening – but still kid friendly.
You may not expect it but these toys feel compassion, fear and they constantly question their loyalty to each other. Friendship is valued highly between this group of toys – sticking together no matter what.
It is on screen chemistry from start to finish even though it might be computer generated. This film is great regardless as if it is in 3D or not and audiences will connect with characters that feel sadness, and hope for happiness.
This is great storytelling – and a great film from beginning to end. Go see it.
NOTE: This movie has some scary scenes that might not be appropriate for children under 8 year old.
